CELEBRATING
79 YEARS
OF
POLITICAL ACTIVISM
1944-2023

Founded in 1938, the Federation is a grassroots organization with 100,000 members and 1,800 unit clubs nationwide. Members come together as a collective force to advance the power of women through political access and participation. Our mission is to help women from all walks of life become players at the political table nationally, statewide and locally. As part of this Federation, the Republican Women’s Club of Duval Federated (RWCDF) promotes the politics of women in Jacksonville. We strengthen the Republican Party by recruiting, training and electing candidates; advocating the Party’s philosophy and initiatives and empowering women of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds in the political process.

The tenacity of Republican women forged the future of politics in the U. S. and, indeed, the world. They were the original suffragettes and the driving force behind the 19th Amendment (also known as the Susan B. Anthony Amendment), which was originally introduced in 1878 and defeated four times by a Democrat Senate until it finally passed a Republican Senate in 1919. Our club was chartered in 1944 in the then wholly Democrat city of Jacksonville, Florida. The rest is a proud history.

We will continue to grow in numbers, spirit and dedication. Our determination and unprecedented grassroots campaigning, from knocking on doors to working at headquarters, will help ensure the stronghold of the Congress and Senate, as well as, the White House. Together, we will use our considerable influence in meaningful ways to elect candidates and impact the important issues affecting our city, state and nation.
