The entire RWCDF luncheon on November 11, 2021 was a special tribute to our United States Veterans.  Our business sponsor today was Operation New Uniform (ONU), which was founded in 2014.  The mission of this organization is to ensure that our nation's veterans have a successful transition after service.   After a beautiful invocation by Captain Archileta, the Pledge of Allegiance led by REC Chairman Dean Black, and a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem by Harmony 4, our President Esther Byrd turned the meeting over to Major Teddy Colgate (USMC Ret) of the 5 STAR Veterans Center.  He spoke eloquently about his service, the plight of POW/MIA veterans and their families, and explained the meaning of the Missing Man Table.  He also introduced our RWCDF members who are military veterans (we have many!!) and those who are members of military families.  Our guest speaker today was Donna Michaels, a U.S. Navy veteran who also worked alongside the Navy SEALS for 3 years during her service.  She became a police officer following her years of service, and is now retired and has written a book, "Courageously Broken" by D.A. Michaels.  She told her personal story of PTSD and her work to encourage others to "never quit" - a really remarkable woman!  From beginning to end, this meeting honored our veterans - all American heroes who have been willing to serve, even to the point of giving up their lives for their country.  This was a very special way for us all to celebrate Veterans Day.  God Bless the USA.   To see all the photos from this luncheon, go to RWCDF Veterans Day Luncheon - 11-11-21 | Flickr
