The January Women, Wine & Wisdom evening was held in a new location - Leci's Italian Cafe - and was a huge success.  The owner and staff are wonderful people and made us all feel so welcome (and the food was delicious.)  Our president, Esther Byrd, introduced our outstanding speaker, Dena Espensheid.  Dena has worked in public policy organizations, advertising agencies and political campaigns - from city council positions to a presidential campaign - for over 20 years.  She's worked with get-out-the-vote efforts and much of her work has focused on grassroots organizing, training volunteers and training conservatives to run for office and win.  The title of her presentation was "How to Argue with Idiots" and it was funny, serious, informative and very, very timely in our current political atmosphere.   Following her presentation, Amanda Gordish spoke with us about the upcoming election on February 22nd for the City Council At-Large seat and the crucial importance of the effort of each of us to get out the vote!  There are so many volunteer opportunities for each of us to give just an hour or two - or many more as we are able - to help ensure that the city leaders we elect represent the values of our citizens and that our children and grandchildren can grow up in a safe, thriving city.   Our next luncheon is February 10th and our next Women, Wine & Wisdom is February 22nd.   You can register now for either or both of these upcoming events...and you really don't want to miss them!
